@2ck @debian The FTP masters are reviewing every new package entering the official Debian package archive (historically hosted over FTP).
In particular that packages conform to the Debian Free Software Guidelines. https://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines
This is tedious work and the NEW queue has peaked above 500 packages to be reviewed, adding huge delays for new pieces of software to enter Debian. https://ftp-master.debian.org/stat.html
That this is over is excellent news for everyone contributing to Debian !
