I actually thought of an interview Lex Fridman had with a sleep researcher (probably this one, https://lexfridman.com/andrew-huberman-2/) about how temperature is a good signal for distributed coordination just before Webster brought up dinosaurs. This is exactly the kind of thing I've been thinking about lately: living systems have all sorts of thresholds like this and we don't know how many of them we're just sidling up to.

Altruism is weird. I'm maintaining this #Python package. I don't add features or anything because I don't use it anymore myself, but I don't want to just drop it because I know some ppl actually use it. Like, I just spent the better part of my day fixing issues with it when I could have been ... cleaning my house or something.
