Trying things out. I will be posting mainly #neuroscience. So here is a question. What is the most important thing we need to be able to do to understand the principles on which brains work?
Hello, i'm a Professor of #Social #Neuroscience at UCL, studying how face-to-face interaction works in adults and (occasionally) children with and without #autism. I use mocap and #fnirs and virtual reality and wearables to understand #cognitive mechanisms.
After switching instances I will introduce myself again:
I am a #Neuroscience researcher at UC Berkeley investigating how the human brain can imagine sequences of musical sounds, using #EEG #MEG and #iEEG
I am also interested in reinforcement learning and how humans process reward.
Proudly #Colombian. #BikeTooter Love #salsa #dancing.
@eeg @cognition
@padberg I have already come across so much more interesting medical science and neuroscience here, compared to that other place! #NeuroscienceMigration
Howdy!
Stoked about Mastodon - absolutely LOVE the lack of ads, looking forward to an active feed with hopefully less doomscrolling here! #science #neuroscience #space #xenarthrans #spaceagepolymer
#Introduction 🧠
Hi folks! I’m a cognitive neuroscientist studying the brain networks involved in skilled action production. I use #fMRI, #DTI, #LesionSymptomMapping, and #ECoG.
I also enjoy talking about music, sports, running, and travel. Looking to make connections and build a community here.
Researchers in #neuroscience have been doing animal studies in virtual reality for more than two decades. But to someone from another field, it still seems amazing, especially when the equipment is tiny, for a participant the size of a fly.
Hello! #introduction
I'm a computational neuroscientist, currently a postdoc at Princeton, but about to start my own group at #bostonuniversity. I build neural networks, trying to keep them real with biology, and analyze neural population dynamics using #machinelearning.
Sometimes, I do some #sciencewriting about other peoples science. I also love #julialanguage, and try to contribute to that effort.
I think the #neurosciencemigration is freaking awesome. Fight the man!
I found the #psychology and #stats community. Where’s the #neuroscience community at?
@ScienceisWhere A ton of folks in neuroscience can be found through #NeuroscienceMigration ! With #SfN2022 starting next week, I'm excited to network with more people and help build up solid mastodon networks. The #TwitterMigration includes soooo many neuroscientists! I am planning to post my poster information here in a little bit. I know #SfN has specific social media images for that kind of thing that we can use.
Alright, #ActuallyAutistic folks here,
Give me a shout out!
@ramsey Donating to your server admin is a great investment 👏
My first Toot!
I wonder how many people I follow on Twitter are here?
Some of the things I write about:
#ActuallyAutistic #Autism #Autistic #ADHD #neurodivergent #medium #writingcommunity
#WidowedYoung #nostalgia #grief #life #lifestories
(I'm not used to having so many characters!)
I appreciate seeing news articles shared on @Mastodon, but sometimes they don't have all the information.
Here are some best practices for sharing news:
1. Include the title of the article in the text (don't share *just* the link).
2. Go further! Pull out a key line or take-away from the article. This Mastodon, you've got more characters.
3. See if the author is on Mastodon. If so, *tag them* so they get credit. Tag the news outlet, too.
...more below in thread.
@XanIndigo and sometimes, the coffee table can become a collective soapbox. 🔥🥳🔥
@kayleigh hey 👋
I'm a late diagnosed #ActuallyAutistic person, also #ADHD so #AuDHD & proudly #neurodivergent
I never found my place in the birdworld either, which I always thought was a "me problem", but I feel much more relaxed & accepted here, & I only joined yesterday 😀✌️
@raineer @adamdavidson
Especially when you can post on mastodon and have it cross post to Twitter. Seems to work just fine. Twitter doesn't have to be the primary. It's the whole point of the #twittermigration
Extremely stubborn MD/PhD student investigating pain and memory. I'm in my third year of a seven-year-long Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson pursuing my PhD in #neuroscience.
