So I understand that the bird site has started blocking links to common/known Mastodon instances, and that doesn't seem like free speech to me. So... I did a thing.
If you go to https://spacekaren.sucks it is now a URL shortener that blocks the twitter user agent. That means you can share that link that will redirect to your Mastodon account without the pouty baby stopping you. If you find this helpful can you boost so others can find it? #TwitterMigration #Mastodon #Musk #introduction
Hey Mastodon! I'm Holly, I paint spooky crow people in countryside scenes.
@dntlookbehindu or the name of your metal band
Here's an original (circa 1904) power switchboard for a New York City IRT subway substation, used to control an array of rotary AC-DC converters that supply power to the system. It's still in service, although most of the rotary converters have by now been replaced by solid state rectifiers. Can also be used to re-animate corpses during lightning storms, but beware of crowds with torches and pitchforks.

Every news outlet should stand up a Mastondon instance for their reporters & staff.
It’ll be great to see GivennameFamilyname@mastodon.famousnewspaper.com or whatever domain they want to use.
Built in verification. Every reporter for the Washington Post on a washpo domain. Every reporter for the New York Times on an NYTimes domain. Etc, etc.
Plus the “local” feed for each instance becomes a feed of all the posts from that institution mixed together — providing extra discovery.
Journalists whose accounts have been suspended on "birdsite" include:
• Donie O'Sullivan (CNN)
• Micah Lee (Intercept)
• Ryan Webster (Bellingcat)
• Drew Harwell (Washington Post)
• Matt Binder (Mashable)
• Aaron Rupar (Vox)
• Ryan Mac (NYTimes)
Official Mastodon account is also gone on birdsite. https://thedesk.net/2022/12/twitter-suspending-journalists-elon-musk-mastodon/ #journalism #freespeech #bloodythursday
