I just spent 10 minutes debugging the Linux sound issue—checked the log. I checked the setting at the CLI and GUI. But no sound at all. Tired of this I was about to reboot my machine, and then I realised I had turned off the power to the speakers. I guess it is time to sleep. Silly me.

A reminder that these systems don’t ”know” anything but are just very sophisticated writers of text based on everything they’ve ever read, plus what you prompt them to say.

The core language model behind Bing Chat and #ChatGPT is provided by #OPENAI. I‘m pretty sure it is the text-davinci-003 model, now sometimes called GPT-3.5, and accessible via an API. .. cont..
