This afternoon, I was given a tour and demo of the brand new #VirtualReality lab at the Helen Glass Centre in the #CollegeOfNursing in the #RadyFacultyOfHealthSciences at the #UniversityOfManitoba in #Winnipeg.

They are using the #UbiSim #VR software to train #nursing students (https://ubisimvr.com/).

This is the first virtual reality lab at #umanitoba, but both the Department of #ComputerScience and the #Libraries are working on plans for the second and third VR labs! #education #metaverse

Good morning #edutooter friends. I’d love your take on this: I’m coaching six brand new teachers, all with emergency certifications. Turnover has been an issue for us for many years.(very small, so lots of preps, high needs, super rural). We’re thrilled with this group and their progress. We’re focused on building a consistent staff for our wonderful students. What are your best retention strategies? Give me everything you’ve got!

Musk has used "Vox, populi, Vox Dei" to justify reinstating Trump on #Twiiter. But the quote is from a letter from Alcuin to the Emporer Charlemagne urging him to resist such ideas, "Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit." Which translates as "And do not listen to those who keep saying, 'The voice of the people is the voice of God', because the tumult of the crowd is always close to madness."

The very impressive but deeply creepy Devil’s Fingers fungus (Octopus Stinkhorn), sprouting in a local park.
These are native to the southern hemisphere but have somehow made their way to Northern Ireland.

After co-creating success criteria, 5th graders worked to recreate the Pumpkin Pie Shapegram. They earned stickers after meeting the criteria. It took perseverance to get it just right.
