If there is one technique more game developers should know about is INVERSE KINEMATICS. 🦾

In a nutshell, it allows to move an arm (or leg!) to a specific points, under certain constraints.

It is often used in videogames to complement traditional animations, which cannot react very well to environmental changes. 🎮

One composition technique I've been using lately is to reveal a melodic phrase slowly, loop the first few notes a few times, add in a few more, and repeat until the whole melody is revealed. Similar to the children's game "I'm going to a picnic"

I made this up, but undoubtedly I'm not the first. Does anyone know if there's a term for it and have any examples of it?

Light Mode is better than Dark Mode (for me)

Here’s why, with some science behind it, too. Yes, I have a justification as well just a preference…

Let’s start with what we know:
The pupil of the eye shrinks when there’s a lot of light and dilates when it’s darker

The question is: how much difference will it make between viewing a screen in dark mode and light mode?

Here’s a very rough, crude experiment (emphasis on “rough” and “crude”, and use of “experiment” is very loose here!)

So I guess I haven't done a self- #introduction on this instance yet. Time to remedy!

Among other things I'm a #synth aficionada with an ambiguously musical past who started messing around with synths in 2019. Through the pandemic and family tragedy my synth hobby kept my head above water, and in mid-2020 I discovered the #GoldenShrimpGuild who inspired me to get into #livesynthesis.

Synths inspired my #electronics hobby, but that's stuff I'll tackle over at @litui@μ.computer .
