Hi, Baggeraar is Dutch for Dredgerman. Master on Dredging ships. Working Worldwide. 6 weeks on...6 weeks off. Love music of Patti Smith.

I've got a question- a friend of mine works in IT and has asked some help with communicating with some of his international clients. He's specifically asking about Portugal and Germany.

The question is what a "." is called in those regions. In American English it would be a period. In British English it would be a full stop. A lot of people just call it 'Dot'

Any help is appreciated.

Hi !

I am a paleontologist/geologist. My research interests are in paleontology. I mostly focus on using quantitative methods, my Master's thesis used morphometrics and multivariate statistics to quantify species within a single bivalve genus. I now work for a university as a geology lab manager. I mostly teach and coordinate the introductory undergraduate course labs.

I'm also just an all around science nerd, so I'm excited to meet other scientists and discover new things. I love to be always learning. Along with this comes an appreciation for most and fantasy things out there.

I am a project manager, Dad to six kids, and I have learned that my "Plan B" is almost always the right one.I also love to read and try to stay up on the latest in science and technology, but also love listening to old-time radio shows (I recommend Gunsmoke and Johnny Dollar as excellent, though the detective series Richard Diamond is also very good).

Hello!

I work full-time as a programmer and part-time as a student pursuing an M.S. in computer science. No concrete plans as to what I'll be doing once I finish. I am interested in AI and its many subfields, synonyms, buzzwords, etc.

Something random-

I've been reading up on ancient Canaanite religion recently, and it is a very interesting subject. Particularly when you look at it as the precursor religion to what would eventually become Judaism.

A lot of the god names are maintained in Hebrew- which is, itself, a Canaanite language- the only living (Although you could say resurrected) Canaanite language. Yam (long A, Yaam) for instance is one that is super easy to spot because the word, in Hebrew, for ocean is still yam.

It's a very interesting thing to study for me, as a Jewish person and a secular Zionist who ascribes to the notion that the Jewish people are the aboriginal people to the region of the world I've chosen to make my home.

However, from a history standpoint it's particularly interesting to see where my culture and the religion associated with said culture came from and evolved from.
