There are a couple ways to the with the basic option just winging it or training for it. The issue with winging it is that it can cause lasting damages which in the best case will heal up within a year. The main issues are the joints, especially knees and hips, which is mainly due to weak hamstrings.

For those who want to train for it, the best training plans are ones that target the legs in all directions, not just forward movements, but also backwards and sideways movements. This will create a good foundation to tackle the workout with the least worry of lasting damages.

Here is an example workout:

buy in: 400m backwards ruck

* 100 step up
* 100 strict seated squats aka box squats
* 100 step up
* 100 ruck swings
* 100 step up
* 100 2-count reverse lunges
* 100 step up
* 100 2-count side lunges
* 100 step up

buy out: 400m backwards ruck

* _buy in_ is the price to attempt the workout and sometimes equates to the warm up
* _buy out_ is the price to finish the workout and sometimes equates to the cool down, also called _cash out_
* _n-count_ is the count of movements until considered one rep

The exercise that surprised me the most is the backwards ruck.

While being in the one would assume that the should carry all the blame for the dying of the forests, though after closer investigation it is only the symptom of a man made change to .

Originally the was quite mixed and humankind wanted a quick way to get lumber back again, thus they chose to create a mono culture of . This in theory would be fine as long as the climate would align with the tree's ideal conditions. Though as locals have experienced in the past years this isn't the case anymore and thereby creating the ideal biotope for the bark beetle to spread like wild fire.

As much as one would assume the bark beetle to be the pest, it has its place in the ecology. Its purpose is to weed out the weak trees to create more space for the other trees and give home to various species. Killing off the beetle would in return also reduce the food source of various other species, especially larger bugs and birds.

Choosing the right tool for the task depends on the future requirements.

Take for example on a puddle filled path. Ideally, one would either have waterproof boots or an extra pair of shoes to change into.

If neither is applicable, then one can try to construct an optimal route with various hops to mitigate as much water contact as possible. Or one could just as well take off the shoes plus socks and do the trail .

Doing a trail barefoot is no simple feat, since one needs to regularly train the foot muscles and harden the foot sole skin. Otherwise one will tire out too quickly and/or cannot keep the pace of the other hikers. Additionally, one will need to put a stricter focus on where one steps, not only to avoid additional pain from landing on sharp rocks, but also to avoid unnecessary slipping and twisting of the foot. Thus, if possible one should avoid stepping on mud, first because unknown objects can be hiding underneath it and secondly it can create a slick surface, thereby increasing the potential of falling and/or injury.

Goldenrod (Q212939) is currently in bloom and is ready for foraging. This is one of the key herbs to help combat the upcoming flu season.

Best to find the plants at least 50m away from any roadways. And cut them just below the last stems holding the flowers.

After the initial cut it is best to remove any extra foliage before laying out the flowers on sheets for drying. This is easier while the plant matter is still wet over later when it is dry.

Use screens or cardboard over metal sheets and have a breeze cycle frequently over it to reduce the chance of spoilage. This can also be done manually a couple times a day. Let them dry in a shaded area over direct sunlight.

Dealt with the step function in class. The image defines a step function. To my understanding it is right continuous, so wouldn't it be an over estimate for functions that are $f'(x) < 0$ and thus in such a case the ceiling function would be better? Or does it not matter?

Summary:

Class: 2

Just bought a round of black from .

Will start the testing with Herrentee.

It feels weird to use a whole weekend to program a reverse engineered dashboard creator (codeberg.org/barefootstache/Si) that can manually be done in less than a hour per dashboard.

Initial features:

- one can create a dashboard using the demo
- one can create as many local ones as one wishes
- all dashboards are saved locally in the browser
- there is a template for a quick open street map dashboard
- responsive on mobile

---

I have made at least 5 dashboards manually before deciding to reverse engineer the process. Quite proud that the OSM template works as expected and was able to remove a set of home screen saved websites on mobile to use the template instead.

Is it just me or is this a malicious attempt to get my phone number?

Scientists think they have figured out where heavy elements like gold or uranium come from. They hypothesis that they can be created when two stellar objects merge together like neutron stars or black holes.

Assuming this to be true, jewelry made from these kinds of heavy elements is more valuable than ones that mainly focus on diamonds. Because we have figured out how to make man-made diamonds, which takes less energy to make than heavy elements.

Additionally, if one takes it one step further, the Earth is the product of the collision and merger of stellar objects.

The hypothesis of our mental speed declining once we hit the age 20, has been debunked. It was thought that once our brain stops growing that our mental speed also declines.

A recent study suggests that the slowness of reaction time of older individuals is due our decline in motor skills and we concentrate in avoiding mistakes. And even after the age of 60, the mental speed only declines gradually.

Scientist have designed a new low cost alternative to the PCR, that is just as efficient though takes less time to get a result which is done via the smartphone. It is called "Harmony COVID-19".

They are currently looking at supplying hospitals and clinics. Then in the second step, bring out home versions. The design was made to be as easy as self-home tests.

This has the potential of reducing the financial and time burden put onto the individual.

Scientist have found a bacteria that can produce protein-rich fishmeal by feasting on methane captured from landfills, oil and gas facilities, or wastewater treatment plants.

This could be one way to reduce global warming while producing a profit, since currently fishmeal needs either water, land, and/or fertilizer to be produced.

Methane is 80 time more potent at warming than carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. Plus the primary contributor to the formation of ground-level ozone, which is a hazardous air pollutant that causes 1 million premature deaths yearly.

In the end, one is reducing surface area usage, removing a toxic gas, and making a profit.

You probably have heard that blue light can keep you longer awake, which most devices emit. Though did you know that blue light is the cause for age related vision loss.

Now one would think, that devices have only been around for a couple of decades, so where is this damage coming from. The answer is the sun. Though the sunlight provides a whole spectrum of light, which include infrared light, which counteracts most of the negative effects of blue light. And in comparison sunlight is about 10 times stronger than the blue light from devices. So sunglasses could help reduces the amount of damaging blue light can reach your eyes.

Another option are dried goji berries, which one can imagine as sunscreen for one's eyes.
