@Full_marx @freemo OMG!!

All of those alive and kicking is like a trader's desk when the market is open. Ooops....

I tried Whalebird for Windows yesterday and it wa very nice - including being able to resize width of columns anytime I feel like it. No wasted space at the edges, like unfortunately happens in the web browser view I get.

@freemo Wonderful news, congratulations on a job well done. :thumbsup_hmn_h2:

I think the prominent placement of QOTO on the joinmastodon page might have something to do with many people arriving here. 😃

@QOTO @freemo Any way we can know that a person has been around long enough (longer than a month), other than digging down into their past toots?

The user profiles don't show a joindate.

@Sphinx I used to be a teacher, and sometimes still have a nightmare of coming to school and having a test that day, or something else, that I have not prepare. 😟

Stressful, and really nice when I realize it's not really happening, once I wake up enough.

Walking into a situation like those is tough.

@Surasanji Quantum Anything and String Theory is what drives me over the edge, into a lost stare state. :mind_blown:

@_lunawinters @freemo There are many of his books that were made into film too, you might have seen one.

"The Green Mile" comes to mind, excellent film. Haven't read his books yet, I think.

LibraryThing has a page for him with the many titles in separate pages, with plots and user reviews.

@Full_marx Thanks for opening a new and interesting reading topic for me. Starting with a backgrounder, on what nootropics are.

I see caffeine mentioned in the page, but no mention of Guarana, which is an Amazonian plant that has been long used for its stimulating properties.

We did use that (in a powder form, a spoon full dissolved in water) to help with academic work load in my uni days.

@susi123 @freemo Good morning! 😃

Ah, you need distractions, came to the right place. ☕ :coffeepot:

Grab a mug and jump in.

@_lunawinters Nice work, yes, keep drawing. Everything gets better with practice, and drawing involves very fine motor skills.

The one looking from the back of the person is my favourite.

@freemo @Surasanji @Gargron That's a fun picture. Poor kitty.

Here's a ncie one I recieved yesterday from the Cats bot.

@GaziRashid That's beautiful script. I can't read any of it, but it's faascinating how different cultures developed ways to communicate and preserve ideas in writing.

What are the contents of the image?

@GaziRashid And Peace be with you too, Gazi.

Welcome to Qoto! ☮️ 🕊️

@freemo The lyrics are pretty nice, I can relate to his feelings. Marie must be a good lover to spend time with (when she feels like).

Thanks for the link to FW. Got to see what it is all about. :thumbsup_hmn_h2:

@salad_bar_breath Encontre el mismo reporte de USGS que mencionas arriba. Muy bueno, puesto que es le mas reciente. Gracias! :thumbsup_hmn_g1:

@dpreacher @clacke That was a traumatic experience for the whole country.

Many people did not have bank accounts, and the government decided to recall and declare not-valid the largest value bills.

If I recall correctly, they gave people about 3 months to bring in their old paper bills, to a bank, with ID, to get it cashed in.

Replacement new bills were not available in the huge quantity needed, and there were huge lines at banks to wait and get your money in.

Sicne ID was required, the fiscal authorities could also know who was coming in and exchanging large amounts of cash, and cross check that with the person's previous tax filings.

The country has a population of 1.3 Billion people (I might be lowballing), the scale of this undertaking is phenomenal.

And of course, it was bungled. People wanting food, but having no cash to buy, Sellers having food, but buyers not having cash, food goes to waste. Huge disruption to the economy.

I am not an Indian citizen, but this made headlines in all the major international papers and magazines.

@salad_bar_breath The very beautiful photo is taken on the Salar de Uyuni, which is a favourite for tourists photography.

Show thread

"Bolivia’s Lithium resources are estimated to be at the level of 9 million tons (USGS), highest in the world as per individual country and 22% of the world’s total. This is significantly more than the second- and third-placed Chile and Argentina, which hold 18% and 16% of the global total resources respectively. The Bolivian government claims that it has 70% of the world’s lithium reserves and the most optimistic estimation claims there is 140 million tons of lithium in Salar de Uyuni."
