Waiting for nice weather for rides with sunny skies and warmth (a 5 Celsius ride yesterday, after days of cloudy and drizzly weather).

@LittleWytch The closest thing to FB is Friendica, which is pretty interesting, very rich, I have an account but haven't explored it as I should -- got busy with Mastodon instances and all the new things to explore here.

@Sphinx A lot of people are losing their jobs and it's hurting. Hopefully governments come thru quickly as promissed -- the health impact is bad, the economic one could also be quite serious.

@obi The filter depends on the Toot itself having its language identified -- it it is in Spanish but there's no other flag, it will assume it's English and display it. So, not fool proof, but that's all the control we have.

@Sphinx @Nacor It's the original and most elegant accent for English.

Although within Britain itself there's regional variations, and in some cases the speech of the locals is pretty hard to follow (Northern England for example, has influences from way back when the Danish and Viking invaders came and set up new homes there).

@obi If you use the Languages control in the mastodon user panel and only select the ones you can at least partially understand, the filtering should apply to any posts you see in other instances -- as long os mastodon identifies the language of the post correctly.

There's no other controls for that, but it should work everywhere, I think.
