How the Russian language has changed because of the war. With English and Russian subtitles.

Worth a listen whether or not you're learning - a podcast from two Russian language instructors who left their country because of the war.

I found this particularly interesting since I posted previously about new Russian vocabulary I've learned since the start of the war.

Thanks for for the link. I'd actually heard this law had been enacted. How useless. has adopted a lot of words from English, French and a few other languages, some of which have been in use since tsarist times, before the Revolution. The new law certainly won't keep Russian speakers outside of the Kremlin from using foreign loan words.

@edcasabar not only useless, but profoundly xenophobic & yet a banal reflection of contemporary russian culture - just my personal assessment
