Hello everyone!

(I think I'm finally getting the hang of flex nib calligraphy!)

In case anyone was wondering what is... Well aside from being the name of our instance it stands for "Question Others, Teach Others" and is pronounced like "goto", it is an intentional play on words "goto QOTO" sounds like "goto goto".

So I decided from now on Im signing all future documents in Gothic Blackletter.

My first full attempt at flair / flex writing. For comparison see the comments for a picture of my handwriting before beginning practicing calligraphy.

So apparently my choice of paper has been holding me back this whole time. Switched to a new paper designed to be the best for fountain pens. My Blackletter instantly leveled up. Apparently the last paper had just the slightest bit of bleed enough to loose some of the fine detail.

My second attempt at a spencerian style script using an italic 1.5mm nib on a Lamy pen.

My first attempt at a spencerian script with a 1.5mm italic nib from Lamy (no flex). Spencarian scripts are really hard for me.

As promised, some old Motorola test equipment. Now I need to dig the TIMS out of the shed and set it up too...

Kinda excited. Just ordered a vintage fountain pen from 1910. It is made by the company that invented fountain pens and is known as one of the best Flex pens ever made. I think I'm finally done buying pens, I should have everything I need now for writing :)

A comparison of my name written with flair vs without (using a pens flex capabilities). I need better paper though and a pen with softer flex. In fact I just ordered a vintage pen from around 1910 that is one of the best flex pens of all time...

Top row is with flex/flair, bottom is without.

I've been trying to come up with my own style of Gothic font that works well with my music nib. This is what I have so far. I need to perfect the spacing but otherwise I like this style so far.
