There's so much more to this too. Like, I have so much more time and space to consider these things. I mend clothes, when I can. I fix electronics. Part of that is having the privilege (of time) to be able to do that. How many things are broken, wasted, whatever because of all this pressure on people?

It makes the waste of the ultra rich even more stark. They have the time, the privilege, to not waste. They have the capacity to reduce their impact more than any of us, and yet they choose to use more than all of us.

“Silicon Valley isn’t building apps anymore. It’s building empires. Under the banner of "patriotic tech", this new bloc is building the infrastructure of control—clouds, AI, finance, drones, satellites—an integrated system we call the Authoritarian Stack. (…) these firms now operate as state-like powers—writing the rules, winning the tenders, and exporting their model to Europe, where it poses a direct challenge to democratic governance.”

Not all Trans are the same group + We will build something better than Capitalism... #Quote

"Remember: not all trans people are alike, the exact same way that not all members of ANY group are alike. That's why it would be a 'group' and not 'exact clones'. Yes, even identical twins are not completely identical in every way, cool and personally unique though they are in other ways (like us all!)

No one is more important than anyone else. You're allowed to experiment. You're allowed to stay with what you feel comfortable. You need to notice harm to others and yourself. You need to care AND rest. We will build something better after capitalism.
I love you."

Why this is important (both links in same thread)

On my phone I use Firefox Focus.

No tabs. No bookmarks. Deletes all cookies and history when you close it.

On the rare occasion I need to stay logged in I can use another browser. I use another browser once a month at best.

@Gigi

My god, I just realized one of the simplest opsec things you can do (something I've been doing for years and don't even think about anymore) is set your browsers to open links in private/secure instances AS A DEFAULT.

If it needs to be opened in a window that you want to keep open or bookmark, you can always manually copy and paste it.

It makes no sense to be using a secure shared tool like cryptpad, if you're just gonna open it where you're logged in as you.

Remember the #SocialEngineering motto:
If there are people, there are security holes.

#ActivistResouces #OPSEC #BestPractices

@Gigi on Firefox Android, which I use, you can set it to open links in Private Browser Mode automatically, and there's a menu button for "open in regular tab".

Side note, speaking of opsec, in another conversation someone just mentioned that time the FBI raided an admin's house and got the Kolektiva database because they had the whole thing just downloaded

The French city of Grenoble is doing pioneering work in putting Doughnut Economics into practice. And they've just shared it in a fab report, in French & English. If you are in need of some inspiration (anyone?) I promise you a good dose here.... calameo.com/books/004190376c10

might be amazing... but we need each other more than ever. Human connection.

And making human connection better ourselves if we have to...

Today I found out that google docs infects html exports with spyware, no scripts, but links in your document are replaced with invisible google tracking redirects. I was using their software because a friend wanted me to work with him on a google doc, he is a pretty big fan of their software, but we were both somehow absolutely shocked that they would go that far.

On Thursday, Aberdeen City Council yet again ignored the people of Torry to side with the "Energy Transition Zone" and cleared the way for the burn of St Fittick's Park to be destroyed.

The council voted through the first two planning applications completely unopposed despite Friends of St Fittick's Park giving them a lot of material conditions why they can reject the destruction of the park. (2/4)
