Here are the graphs and my analysis for today's #Covid19Cymru data.

Cases: 626 (cf last Monday 487)
7-day average: 809
Deaths: 1 (cf last Monday: 4)
7-day average: 5.57

103: Cardiff
59: Swansea
46: Fflint
46: Wrecsam
45: Bridgend
45: Neath PT
37: RhCT
.
.
9: Powys
7: Penfro
5: Trofaen
5: Vale of G
3: Ceredigion

Being a Monday, these figures are lower than usual (based on Sunday reporting). So it looks better, but when casees are compared with last Monday it's higher.

In case anyone was wondering if the #Covid19Cymru lockdown was necessary, we have:

Cases today: 1148 (the highest so far)
Deaths: 10

Although there is an element of catch-up after the weekend, this clearly shows that the lockdown was needed.

More later, when I come back from getting the stores in for the next 2 weeks.

60,000,000 gallons of oil sinking between Venezuela and Trinidad

(That's six times as much as Exxon-Valdez)

This is an avoidable disaster

If you can contact your representatives, please do so. This disaster will likely impact most of the Caribbean if not parts of the southern United States too.

This image shows current flows in the Caribbean. The ship is currently between Venezuela and Trinidad.

This is about to become the one of the worst oil spills of the century. The US ambassador to Trinidad has stated that they will not impose sanctions or restrictions on parties looking to assist. looptt.com/content/us-embassy-

We have just days left to prevent this environmental catastrophe.

While this happens, the Venezuelan government denys that any problem is occurring. news.gov.tt/content/trinidad-a

This ship contains 6 times the oil of the Exxon Valdez spill.

This needs international attention and it needs it now.

This is an environmental problem that you, yes you, can directly make a difference with.

Covid deaths per 100k. I combined a few sources of information. It's easy to see why Quebec (73.71) and Ontario (22.54) are freaking out! They're really bringing 'down' the class average (for success).
The rest of Canada is about 2.29/100k.
There is some slop in the pop. numbers from 2016 cenus in wikipedia vs the public health page. I find them ignorable - also the 2 decimal places, but w/e. I just wanted a rough idea.

We were told this would not happen. It completely undermines confidence in the app, making it next to useless.
I am hereby uninstalling it until I can be assured it won't happen again.

I never stop being amazed by the sheer _volume_ of human creativity that is available on the internet.

From billions of hours of podcasts and videos to enough beautiful art to fill a thousand museums to more music than anyone could ever listen to to the sheer breadth and depth of literature, both original and fanfics, as well as essays up the wazoo on all sorts of topics and even peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed research about almost every imaginable subject.

It's breathtaking.

Here's the graphs for today's #Covid19Cymru figures. Not good - at all. A "circuit breaker" really is needed, if not more.

Whatever the cause of the high number of cases and deaths reported today (946 & 10 respectively), they are the highest and second highest respectively, in this second peak.

To put Cardiff's 214 new cases into perspective: That's more than Ceredigion has had in total (since March - 163). It seems to me that local lockdown isn't working there.

The local authority tables show two authorities getting into triple figures today. Here are the top 6.
110: Cardiff
100: RhCT
55: Swansea
51: Fflint
48: Wrecsam
32: Neath PT

Only three authorities achieve single figures today:
5: Torfaen
3: Ceredigion
1: Pembrokeshire

Aberystwyth university are publishing their daily cases, which is a brave move (and to be applauded). There is 1 case today; there were none yesterday. As they say, these figures are not dependent on where the student lives, but most presumably have a GP in Ceredigion.
