One more shot from the weekend. These little guys were about half an inch tall. 🍄
"Try reading the following out loud:
Hashtag screenreaders for the hashtag blind and hashtag VisuallyImpaired read every hashtag HashTags out loud and so it's hard for people with hashtag VisualImpairment to get the sense of the post because it's being constantly interrupted by well-meaning hashtag accessibility hashtag allies.
Easier to read with a block of hashtags at the bottom:
#screenreaders #VisuallyImpaired #blind #allies #Hashtags #accessibility"

Found this cool music channel named African Lofi, if you’re into lofi or just want some fancier music and are sick of that lofi radio, then check this out.
Reminder that my deep learning course at the University of Geneva is entirely available on-line. 1000+ slides, ~20h of screen-casts.

Today's M7.3 Tonga region earthquake at 2022-11-11 10:48:45UTC recorded in the British Isles on the #raspishake #seismometer network. See: https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us7000ip0l/executive. Uses #obspy, #matplotlib & folium libraries. Waves travelled via the core.
Well I am absolutely beside myself with excitement to discover #mosstodon & #lichensubscribe!
Here are my humble contributions, some #Umbillicaria, #Bryum, #moss encrusting a chunk of former pengiun and #Xanthoria from Casey Station, Antarctica 🇦🇶
The sun danced among the stars, and dawn emerged over the horizon.

Shells literally are rocks, as they are naturally occurring solid masses of mineral matter. In bivalves, shells are made of calcium carbonate, which comes in different structures called polymorphs. The most common are calcite and aragonite. Some bivalves use only one or both (bimineralic). Aragonite is often in shell interiors and can be built into mechanically strong forms like mother of pearl. But it is less chemically stable than calcite, which is often present at the exterior. #ClamFacts
Thoughts on CWs/CW: thoughts
CWs have a positive impact even if not everyone is implementing them to the same degree or in the same way.
Example: on election night, not everyone in my feed was using CWs. But most were—& even having some of those posts behind a cut reduced my anxiety significantly. I had the emotional resources to process the good & bad news I was seeing bc it wasn’t a firehose. Bc I did get to choose when to look enough of the time.
It’s not harm elimination. It’s mitigation.
I feel, as part of my initiation into this space, I must talk about my love of #Medieval elephants.
Yes, you heard me. You see, though bestiaries were very common in Western Europe, elephants were not.
So things like this happen.
"SO... lion body... got it, cloven hooves, okay, big ears and dead bird eyes... long snake face... PERFECTION."
@Gargron Thank you! I thought I was going mad. 🤷🏾♂️
I've seen nude CW posts for Only Fans & it's not bothered me as I just ignore them.
Posting current affairs & politics which affect our daily lives is standard across social media. Being told new users are not welcome for doing so, smacks of the very elitist division & prejudice, veteran Fediversers claim they left the bird site for to join Mastodon.
Thank you for clearing this up. I don't post nudity or violence, so won't be CW my Toots. 🙏🏾
Well, here in Sweden we use idioms such as:
“Now you’ve taken a shit in the blue cupboard!”
”There is no cow on the ice.”
“Everything turned to pancake.”
“There are no fried starlings that fly into your mouth.”
“That you can jump up and sit on!”
“Pull me backwards.”
“You’re acting like an elephant in a porcelain shop.”
“Can you throw a goats eye on this?”
I can go on….
Cat likes yogurt too much. He made it out.
Inspired by:
- Cat antics
- Arduino, Raspberry Pi
- Getting to the destination without a car
- Cleaning things to within an inch of their life but only once all other options (months of inaction) are exhausted
Tired of:
- Cat hair
- Unfinished projects, and also unstarted ones
- How many places still require cars
- Cleaning anything ever
