Shells literally are rocks, as they are naturally occurring solid masses of mineral matter. In bivalves, shells are made of calcium carbonate, which comes in different structures called polymorphs. The most common are calcite and aragonite. Some bivalves use only one or both (bimineralic). Aragonite is often in shell interiors and can be built into mechanically strong forms like mother of pearl. CWs have a positive impact even if not everyone is implementing them to the same degree or in the same way.

Example: on election night, not everyone in my feed was using CWs. But most were—& even having some of those posts behind a cut reduced my anxiety significantly. I had the emotional resources to process the good & bad news I was seeing bc it wasn’t a firehose. Bc I did get to choose when to look enough of the time.

Well, here in Sweden we use idioms such as:

“Now you’ve taken a shit in the blue cupboard!”

“There are no fried starlings that fly into your mouth.”

“You’re acting like an elephant in a porcelain shop.”
