@freemo 1984 and Brave new world are masterpieces, it is a result of lifelong inward and outward reflection of corresponding authors. - Those two books cannot be summarized and are #lindy (in Taleb's measure of survivability ) . 451 is a good book but not great (imo). AHMT is a egalitarian and equalistic justice porn (again imo).
I would let me son skip 451 and AHMT but rigoursly encourage him to read BNW and 1984
@johnlitt 451 was ok. It spent a lot of time and words making a very simple (though important) point I already agreed with before reading it.
It serves a purpose in making a point in memes like this, but not really all that ground breaking in terms of the book itself.
