@prettygood You don't have to be annoying just because everybody else is. (To make myself clear: I don't think you're annoying, but seeing people with an endless list of pinned posts is. They seem to me like an old band living off their greatest hits.)

@wolf480pl As far as heroes go, I have only read the source code of Don Knuth, and I must say that, while I found it a bit weird in parts, it was definitely quality stuff.

I hate businesses who will refuse to meet my demands for more ethical consumption because “how could we compete with Amazon/Google/Microsoft/anything else?” I don't know, dimwit. Maybe by at least _trying_?

@p Correction: Klingon was rejected by those motherfuckers. I don't know about elvish. I don't follow that fandom.

He said this in 2018, but this is exactly what is happening in the UK with the Labour Government and elsewhere

Folks remembering #AaronSwartz today - remember that he was moving publicly-funded research out from behind a paywall.

Then remember the only reason the case went forward is because federal prosecutors, specifically Carmen Ortiz and Stephen Heymann, wanted to make an example of him.

“Theft is theft, and it doesn’t matter if you use a crowbar or a computer” were Heymann’s words at the time.

Notice how federal prosecutors aren’t bullying Sam Altman for the wholesale theft of content network-wide, to build a machine that spews bullshit and further destroys our ability to determine the truth?

It’s because he’s doing it for private profit, while Aaron worked for the public good.

Never let yourself be tricked into believing the legal system is a justice system.

I've been having trouble with qoto lately, so I've created an alt at @josemanuel@social.sdfeu.org. I don't plan on closing this one, but I will probably start using the other one more. You don't have to follow me there if you don't want to. This is more like a PSI.

Extended metaphore refanatzio review

@vaartis I was going to wait until I finished the game to read the review, but, after twenty hours of it, I decided I had enough. I found it boring and predictable.

In terms of gameplay, I hate that they went back to SMT's types of attack. (Who needs three types of physical attacks?) It's supposed to be (sort of) open world, but then they take you wherever they want because the story demands it. You can't even reach your destination through a different path. So frustrating. Of those 20 hours, at least five consisted of these barely interactive ‘cutscenes’.

The protagonist lacks anything resembling a personality, and neither of the other characters are remotely as lovable or memorable as P5R's.

That said, according to my nephew, we are the only ones on the Internet who hold these opinions, so you're probably right in what you wrote.

@vaartis I do, even though I find them cringey and (I'm sorry to say) not particularly sexy.

@hfaust In Spain we say: “No pasa nada, y si pasa, se le saluda”, which means the same thing.
