I have no idea how people use VirtualBox or some other virtualization software to test out new Linux distros.

Every time I've tried one, it's been a massive pain in the ass and runs too slowly. And this is on a recent MacBook Pro!

@timecrash maybe Mac doesn’t support hypervisors and stuff to accelerate virtual machines?

@kaidamitsuki It does, it's just that VirtualBox is the only decent free tool. Parallels and VMware are paid. There are various open source tools but they're too much of a pain to work with.


@timecrash well, it doesn’t really matter which tool to use if Mac doesn’t support acceleration, since they all need that to work fast %)
