Hi all, time for an #introduction 🤗
I am a bioinorganic (with a lot of bio) chemist by training and have moved to Wiley-VCH to become a professional editor right after my PhD.
Currently, I am the editor-in-chief of the journal ChemBioChem and am also supporting a few other journals within our #chemistry portfolio.
Besides science, I love sports, hiking/nature, and coffee 😊
I'm seeing a lot of people with no profile, almost no bio, and no intro. Hoping this reaches some folks to help them get going.
*Bios: If you want people to follow you, tell them who you are. Use a real name, add a profile pic, put real info in your bio. You're not limited to one line here.
*Intros: Search for #Introduction and you'll see what others have done. Do your own, with hashtags showing your interests, and pin it so people going to your profile will see it.

I’m still not sure how this 🐘 works, but I guess the best is to start with an #introduction
Here I will be posting about stuff from our lab at the CECAD. We want to understand #aging and #proteostasis to prevent multiple age-related diseases such as #ALS, #Alzheimer, #Parkinson and #huntington
HDAC6 degraders. Interesting for use of solid phase synthesis along the way.

Hello #ScienceMastodon,
I am a Group Leader at IGC Portugal, and also an Honorary Professor at UCL UK
In the lab, we like to call ourselves Optical Cell Biologists. We develop #Microscopy technology to study cells and their viral infection at the nanoscale. To do so, we deploy novel #SuperResolution and #MachineLearning methods
We hold an ethos for making our methods easily available, reproducible and open to anyone.
Post often about the lab, research we find cool and myself
Hello, World! First post here and sharing our newest #MedicinalChemistry #StructuralPharmacology study on the new 3rd gen EGFR inhibitor lazertinib. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acsmedchemlett.2c00213
Most importantly, new data from the LASER301 trial (plus others) have shown positive results for this drug compared to 1st gen gefitinib. https://twitter.com/StephenVLiu/status/1599066119842959360?s=20&t=E1fJR98imanS_5v9Rp84vQ
Our work reports structural and functional data detailing the molecular properties of this new clinically-effective targeted therapy.
Went a little quiet on Science Twitter in 2022 during the long process of migrating alone in your 30s, and have now emerged into a brave new world. Here we go.
#introduction: I am an immunologist in biotech working on #autoimmune diseases and #immunooncology. Postdocced in #primaryimmunodeficiency, PhD in #cytokines. Fascinated by the power of the #immune response in all its spheres.
Hoping to follow other scientists, doctors and patients combating immune diseases here!
My postdoc Katelyn Miller led this research, which surprisingly showed us that the plasma membrane SNARE protein SNAP23 is involved in generating EV-D68 RNA replication organelles. I love her work here because Katelyn showed that our original hypothesis (SNAP23 regulates entry or exit of virus) was *spectacularly* wrong!

So I guess I should do an introductory post. I am a Professor of Microbiology at University of the Pacific, interested in using genomics and imaging to understand biofilm formation and horizontal gene transfer. I am also a passionate fan of most forms of football (Rugby, American, and the Beautiful Game). I have been known to get political on social media from time to time...
Musk’s anti-Fauci tweet is my breaking point; leaving the other app behind so might as well do an #introduction!
I’m an Associate Professor of #Immunology at the #UniversityofWashington in Seattle. My lab studies programmed cell death in the context of cancer, infection and autoimmunity. Check out OberstLab.org for more info.
Outside the lab, I spend as much time as I can outdoors: Biking, rock climbing, hiking and #birding with my wife and our Irish Water Spaniel Rufus. What a good boy!
Leaving twitter; harassment of public health officials
Today was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
This morning Elon Musk tweeted that his pronouns were prosecute/Fauci.
You can’t study evolutionary biology under the roof of the Discovery Institute and you can’t have meaningful and productive scientific collaboration on a platform run by right-wing troll who denies science when its results are inconvenient to him and just simply to hear his audience cheer.

'Most of Italy's schools lack mechanical ventilation systems. Instead, teachers are urged to keep windows open when weather conditions permit.
If the most efficient systems were installed "we could pass from 250 cases per 100,000 students (the alert level set by the education ministry) to a rate of 50 per 100,000," the Hume foundation and the Marche regional government said'
