Blocking Trump and gang from Twitter will have some unintended consequences. The fringe discourse will shift to more untraceable places like WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, Mastodon instances, mailing lists etc.
That may actually exacerbate the problems. Making technology unavailable to someone doesn't work in 21st century. You cannot stop any fringe movement by mere suppression. Banning from Twitter isn't the same as shutting down printing press of fascists in early 20th century.

This van actually make the problem worse, brainwashing more severe. Since people in these closed groups will have less exposure to outside views.
There is no alternative to humane engagement with these people. Online or offline.
