But I am afraid the answer is not "mastodonians', because mastodon is just one of the possible ways to access the 'fediverse' (or Federated Universe, the network we are participating in).

There are sites using "Pleroma". There are other names which I am even less familiar with. But your posts will show there, as we will see theirs too, being "federated" with hundred of other places.

The great community would be Fediverse, so maybe a word built into that root?

Fediversians comes to mind, although you will need to quickly explain what that means and why you chose the word.

@musafir @Ruminess In twitter people stay quiet with their thought in fear of retaliation and in Mastodon they quietly post their thought in peace.

We have gotten comfortable by seeing the world move by in twitter while here in mastodon you actually get to do heartfelt conversations with others.

It's a new world and its up to you on how you can build it. Converse with strangers, present your point, enter a discussion. It's just not about reading liking and boosting but to socialize.

You know what's the most liberating part of being in the Fediverse? The fact that you aren't constantly subjecting yourself to forced window-shopping. That's what being online has really become. On mainstream SM, almost everything you see is an ad. I won't feel silly if I'm proven wrong but *this* is the future.

To put that in perspective, only very few instances make enough donations to pay for hosting costs let pay for someone to staff it.

Twitter pays people to work there full time and they still can't be as effective as people with cartoon avatars working other jobs. 😂

@lordoftheshibs Was thinking the same thing. The biggest change from twitter has been moving from confrontation to conversation. That one fact alone has helped people with their mental health and peace.

For Confrontation Use Twitter.

For conversation use Mastodon.
