I hadn't seen anyone post this yet but I may have missed it. Pretty good looking cloud bundle over at humblebundle. https://www.humblebundle.com/books/aws-azure-google-and-cloud-security-books?hmb_source=search_bar #humblebundle

Google’s new web standard could disable your ad-blocker | TechRadar

Holy crap, google is apparently taking down all/most fediverse apps from google play on the grounds that that some servers in the fediverse engage in hate speech. At least three apps I know of anyway and I'd imagine the others will follow soon under the exact same reasoning.} Seems to be the case with Husky, Fedilab, and "subway" tooter.
this is a scary precedent if google play is going to ban any apps that can in any way be used to access content with hate speech. So what about a forum client, do they take that down just because there is a forum somewhere on the internet posting hate speech?
This is particularly worrisome because for most people Google Play is the only way they understand to install apps at all.

Sad day for the open web: If you are part of the #MozillaLifeboat contact us! We're constantly looking for developers passionate about #privacy and #opensource to improve our completely Google-free email service!
https://tutanota.com/jobs/ Let's continue building a better web. 💪🙌
You naughty #cyph, we asked you to take down the words "Open Source" from your website since you are NOT #opensource #foss
You did.
It seems those words have somehow found their way back on the website.
Time to raise awareness again and try to make Cyph understand. If the fedizens would like to join the effort and leave a little comment on the issue, that'd be awesome!
Boost appreciated
Received my first MMS on the #pinephone! I had to query the modem to get a list of messages, go through each one and grab a url for the contents, and then wget each of those. One worked. It's somekind of email-like multipart encoded thing, so now I get to learn about *that*.
Does anyone have recommendations for note taking software? Going to school right now. I've used mindforger (only real complaint was lack of spell checking could have been user error and I unfortunately lack the skills as of yet to contribute it), libre office, and word in the past. I'm currently using vim (plain) and taking notes in markdown so I'm less distracted with formatting and I can transfer near anywhere.
Mainly looking for the ability to keep the notes semi organized in a heirarchy linking is a plus.

Hey Fosstodon! I'm Andrew and I'm an Operations Engineer by day (and night, the middle of the night). I've been a FOSS user for about 15 years now and haven't used social media for the last few.
I've rediscovered Mastodon and decided to join you guys. I've already seen a few great posts in 30 minutes, so I'm looking forward to what I'll learn and what I can share!
Aspiring System Admin, Software Developer, Network Administrator and/or Cyber Security Professional...in other words one day I'll know what I want to be when I grow up.
For now I tinker.
