This is so good! So wonderful! I'm so moved.
How can there be such a captivating story? I really love the characters. Every time I read a book like this, I can't help but feel two emotions: a deep, irresistible love for it, and a sense of regret that it's all gone now. Books can be reread, like movies; perhaps each time you read them, you'll gain new insights. But only the first time will you experience that initial feeling of being a newcomer, gradually becoming engrossed, and finally, realizing how it all made sense.
This book is so well-written; I want to be buried with it when I die.
This is the 9th volume of Spice and Wolf. The novel is great. The anime is also great. Oh god, I can die with them. They are so good.
End of Japanese community at Mozilla due to the introduction of AI-based translation.
The community members have expressed disappointment and frustration that their long term volunteer efforts and local knowledge were being replaced by machine translation, which they felt did not match the quality of human provided support.
This is why Mozilla sucks so much, they are going crazy like rest of the industry.

However, that threat certainly works on my coworker. I think today is my first time, after working with him for a year, he actively starts a conversation to suggest some solution to the issue I have met. What a miracle!
Yesterday one of my boss said if we can't get the project working, he will shutdown it. And someone implies to us that once the project is shutdown, someone will lose the job.
I'm not being scared by such things, since, if you know, it's not my first time being unemployment, and now my financial situation is much better*, and I don't have a family to feed. Not to mention I don't think I'm gonna be fired, at least I wrote code with decent quality and didn't shit in the codebase.
Anyway, it's hard to resist the temptation to imagine what I will do after being fired. And I'm actually being flirted by the idea. And now I'm bereft, only a little bit though. After all it's my passion for money that keeps me working when there is no joy from the work. (Although I love programming, not everyday of work is enjoyable)

*: One month of work allows me to pay 20 months of my rent, thanks to the power of foreign exchange. And I also have to thank myself for moving from Beijing to Kunming. If I were renting in Beijing, one month of work will only pay 3 months of rent.
Jdk11 is working on kindle pw6 with firmware 5.17.1.0.4. And I just checked with other people in the discord, new firmware pike 5.18.4 also use old glibc. So I guess jdk11 is what I got now.
This device can't even run browser properly, so hopefully I can write something to call api and display me some info. Maybe in that case go is better than Java?

I think this is pretty much my first time getting my hands on an e-ink device.
The e ink screen is decent under normal room light. The texture of the screen is very different from my smartphone or my tablet. And I like it. In case you don't know, I still prefer physical books because I love the weight of the book, the feel of the paper, and the smell of the ink. I read ebooks solely because I have to move several times in the rest of my foreseeable life, and I love books, so I don't want to damage them. If I own a house, I'll quickly fill it with books.
Anyway, this screen reminds me of the feel of physical books, and I liked this e ink screen when I was under room light. But guess what? Under the sunlight, I LOVE it. Amazon makes such good hardware that I didn't regret making this purchase. Even compared with Samsung or Apple's flagship screen/display, for reading, Kindle is the best. Period.
But of course, their software sucks. That's why we need jailbreak to fix it. After playing around with koreader, I think I'll stop reading on my phone even though it was a good experience. Now I have a better device for reading.
This move did not shock me after I saw Bitnami had already done this.
And I have no objection to a storage solution company doing AI stuff, but I do have objections to anyone who all in AI stuff and then desperately tries to make money by annoying their existing user.

Ordered a kindle paperwhite 6 for jailbreak. Actually this is my first time buying such devices for reading. I do have several apps that I use to read books and mangas on my phone and tablet. But one annoying thing is that, there are so many things that distract me. Maybe a kindle can bring me more read time so I don't keep watching YouTube when I tried to read something I bought last year.
Why jailbreak? Because I don't like my devices being controlled by Amazon. And they already exited China. Maybe it's time to write some c/c++ again? Or can I run java on kindle?

**I have a job now!**
I'm a Chinese shitizen, but I generally don't post in Chinese to avoid being suffering from other Chinese.
I'm physically a male, but I don't care how people think about my gender. I can be male, or female, or cat. But if you ask, I'd prefer to be referred to as male. Also, I support LGBT+ people, and I'm a copyleft. I don't think I'm too aggressive in arguing things, but sometimes I do. You should handle it with care.
I post about programming (most time is Java and Kotlin, unless I have a new love), and some random things I find interesting. I also post about my mental health, which is in a stable state of instability, thanks to my parents and Chinese society.
Anyway, if you want to follow me, I'm glad to see you. And, have a nice day.
