Decided to get MATH EXPRESSions anyway. It's like Nerdle, but on Steam, and with achievements. Unlocking was also cheap enough that I decided to give the devs some monies for a coffee, heh. Although I'm not sure where one'd buy a cup of coffee for 59 cent nowadays. :P

Somebody should make a remake of Virtual Villagers..

Oooh, that tickles! I'm resting my legs on a footstool, next to my cat. He's giving himself a thorough wash.... and then he decided to lick my legs too.

So, I have gardened something fierce for over an hour, removing lots and lots of weeds in my front garden. There were a couple which were starting to grow taller than I am... so yeah, it was pretty much time for me to remove them. ;)

It's good enough for today, getting a bit too hot now and I don't fancy getting sick again. It's also almost time to close all doors and windows to keep the heat out.

Went for a brisk walk for about one hour. I'm tired and a bit sweaty, naturally (and it was also a bit warm). But hey, otherwise I'm pretty fine except for an annoying throat! Eventually that'll be less annoying too and be back to its chronic annoying self. :P

So far I’ve bought 3 games at the Steam sale:

  • Lost Flame, a unique roguelike I’ve played during a free weekend and kept thinking back to it ever since, and development has picked up again recently so it is a good time to get it!
  • Grindstone, I played the demo during the recent Next Fest, the game released right after. I liked this funky color-matching game so much that I simply got it.
  • Mars Power Industries Deluxe, dirt cheap puzzle game. It’s a pretty good thinking game that’s busting my poor brain.

They are very replayable, so I’m pretty happy with my purchases. :blobderpyhappy:

What drives me mad while I'm sick? That I can't grocery shop.

So I sent my parents to do the job. I thought my list was very clear, and yet they make a lot of mistakes still...

Next time if I ever need to send them out again, I probably should create a grocery list in the form of a fucking picture book.

I swear this might be my number one reason to hate being sick.

I’ve finally read through Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk, a Polish writer. I remember what my mother told me before about Polish writers, that they’re kind of insane with their storytelling. And after having finished this book I think she’s right. It’s the second book of a Polish writer I’ve read, and this one’s only a slight bit less insane. Just a tad.

So I’m still reading with the theme of old ladies with murder cases here, except this lady isn’t quite investigating the murder cases per se. More like, she’s actually convinced that it should have been like this, because the stars told her so. She’s a complete astrology nut and tries to make horoscopes to explain everything in life. She’s also Vegan, and anything harming animals is outright murder. All those people who got killed were hunters, so it served them right too. The Animals (yes with a capital A there) probably took revenge on them. Of course nobody believes her, and many think of her as a madwoman.

When reading, I simply went with the flow of the story because it was all quite surreal. It was like watching a movie where you don’t know wtf everybody was smoking, but you just can’t stop watching. She doesn’t name people by their real names but has given all of them nicknames that suits them (according to her logic). Big Foot, Oddball, Dizzy, Good News, etc. I’m also thinking the people in her area are somewhat strange, which is probably an understatement. The difficulty is that I can’t get into too much detail here lest I might spoil the story. This whole book has been quite a weird trip.

Was it a fun read? Well, it’s kept me occupied. Was it interesting? Well, yes, but it was also weird. Do I understand this person? Not really, no. Except a bit near the end, some stuff kind of got explained to attribute to this turn of events. At least she’s got friends who cares about her, which is quite a redeeming factor in this story.
@faticake

Every time I am again amazed at how much snot a human body can contain.

I so totally don't like having a cold and feeling all congested in my head. -.-

Time to check if the kitchen is going to be hotter than outdoors soon.. Oven pizza is on the menu!

Definitely a time to relax right now. It's bloody hot outside. This morning was still nice, so I did very light gardening work then. Wouldn't be able to pull it off now anymore. Even in the shadow feels very warm.

I really like this gardening tool. It's basically pruning shears on a telescopic handle, which you can cut with by pulling on that rope. I can cut branches 2 meter above my head with this toy. Might need one of 3 or 4 meter in the future, because the tree's a bit higher than I can reach currently.

But at least I've managed to trim off a lot of branches which were sticking out of the tree haphazardly. I'm also going to take a well-deserved shower because it's a lot hotter than I expected. A bit too hot to work, but I managed to do most of the job in the shadow which was nice.

I think I'm going to try out those trimming tools today that I borrow from my dad. Time to tame that tree with the murder needles!

First time this happened to me... package left under the bush next to my front door. Gave the delivery company a negative review since this is not an action I want to encourage in the future.

What the hell have I been watching? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bommen Berend better become a huge event this year to justify this silly video!

Woke up way too early as my dream got stuck into an internal monologue where I faced a hearing dad who's got a deaf toddler, and told the dad that he's wasting his boy's life by not teaching him sign language.

I got so annoyed at that fucking imaginary dad that I just got out of bed.

I've been trying to make my 2 backup bikes serviceable again. And here I see the huge difference between an open chain guard (kettingkast) and a closed chain guard...

The bike with the closed chain guard will be able to be put back in use pretty quick, no problem.

The one with the open chain guard however... I think there's like 10 more chain links I have to break up and remove the rust from, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow because my fingers are pretty sore. :p

It's also time, after 2 decades of use, that I order some more Kroon Oil Tefspray. Gods, that's a great rust remover!
