Interesting. Richard Stallman has updated his personal website. He is aware of the hatred against him and links the support site stallmansupport.org/

Go RMS!

I volunteer as 'IT person' for a museum in its early days, (eicas.nl - @EICAS).

I would love to connect with other "museum people" and "museum IT people", here and elsewhere.

Any boosts/recommendations welcome!

Racism, colonialism and war are fundamentally linked. It's no accident that open anti-Muslim Bigotry ballooned in the lead-up to the Iraq War, and the new enemy of China coincides with spiking anti-Asian racism.

I've spent all day reading the Rust book. It seems very thorough, which I quite like

I'll have more thoughts later, probably

@akeno

Nice, proof that the scientists arent bias and when they notice a mistake in their work they will retract it.

Given the long history of police retribution against people exercising their First Amendment right to record interactions with authorities, a U.S. court upholds the ability of the public to secretly record police encounters. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/04/firs

Facebook blocks users who scrape and post paid political disinformation ads, but it missed the crooks who scraped and dumped 553m user profiles. Just another reason it shouldn’t be in charge of who gets to interoperate with it and on what terms. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/04/5530

@zleap @4ioskd

The only private data an instance has is your email address and password. (If you're not using a VPN there will be an IP address too.)

If you want to have maximum security in case of a leak, you could use a throwaway email address, unique password and VPN connection. In that case there wouldn't (as far as I know) be anything sensitive to leak?

By the way, there are thousands of instances on the Fediverse 😁

@feditips @4ioskd@ukadon.shillest.net

Cool thanks, i was asking as this sort of thing worries people generally so being able to get more reassurance that there is nothing worth leaking is a good thing.

But good point, we should try and use what is said here as part of the strategy when promoting the fediverse @dsfgs

Site.js version 16.1.1 release

Fixes the initial double-load issue on Firefox at development time with hot reloading (by removing a Firefox hack that was attempting to work around a browser issue with server-side events that I can no longer reproduce).

why would I go on twitter when there's no ads on fedi and all of the good stuff gets reposted here anyway

@linmob What I would love to see, would be a short #Peertube video of each app in the #MobileLinux app directory. I don't mean a full review, as most of them are going to be new, buggy and in development, anyway.

I'd just like to at least see each screen, what they're for and the features they have. Possibly showing an easy way of installing them on say #Manjaro+#PlasmaMobile, #Mobian+#Phosh and #UbuntuTouch would be a nice bonus.

Right now it's hard to know what's worth the effort to install.

I want to thank my best teachers publicly:

Strangers on the internet

The first four would be absolutely USELESS without the things done by the fifth, but let's brown-nose content storage instead of real producers of content
