Interesting to start seeing a shift. The American Left has stood up for all immigrants, those in the country legally as well as those who broke the laws to be here, and repeat violent offenders, as if where someone is from determines their righteousness. The American Right has said they're for enforcing the laws, meaning to remove those who aren't here through the legal pathways.

Today I'm seeing cheers for deporting those who came to the United States by following the laws and without any criminal record. I think this is out of concern for cultural influence, thinking that where someone is from determines whether or not they embrace and champion the cultural values of where they moved to. As if where someone is from determines... their righteousness.

Trump's wife and Vance's inlaws likely fall into this category, so it's strange to see Trump fans cheering for their deportation. I'm guessing they haven't thought this one through and are just reacting to the left's undiscerning grouping of all immigrants into one bucket.

We'll see where it goes from here.
