Yeah, right, the porn is the problem. The porn that is only just now dangled as a carrot because nobody wants to pay for an LLM.
I agree with the rest of this post but why the random porn shaming?

AI companies are desperate because the funding is running dry and they need to make money now, so they are looking at porn as their lifesaver.
That's why they mention porn. Because it is the next big dumb thing for AI.
I think their point is if there was no point of burning the planet in order to chat with a machine, it makes even less sense to do it for custom porn. Even worse, people will want video for that, so they will need to burn 100 times the same carbon for it.
Maybe those guys were right after all and we are going to end in hell because porn.
