Imagining a ChatGPT fueled dystopia in which all work emails are needlessly prolonged by AI embellishing the text to make the sender seem more intelligent, but it's okay because recipients all just ask ChatGPT to summarize each email. It is a social faux pas to write directly or informally. People learn how to evaluate if generated emails are written in a way where ChatGPT summaries preserve the essential points.

@nielsa
Tbf ChatGPT could possibly make less work emails less dystopian. It'd be nice if when you get back to your computer it'd say "You got six emails, I answered three of them based on Jira, two were bollocks and HR wants to know if you're off to the work lunch"

@dave @nielsa That would be nice. ChatGPT can't *do* that, but it would be nice.

@wizzwizz4 @dave @nielsa a plugin for your email client using the API probably could though

@lurker @dave @nielsa It can't answer emails based on Jira, it can't effectively identify bollocks, and it wouldn't prioritise email summaries according to your priorities. It's easier to get good results using regular expressions.
