Many people said covid did not increase risk of Candidiasis or fungal infections. They were and are wrong.

Most people aren't on social media for information.

They are here to make a bubble of support for w/e they think, regardless if it's correct or not. This includes educated people who should clearly know better but choose to feign ignorance instead.

Our species is regressing.

Food supply disruptions from #ClimateChange are here and will only increase.

It's not about living in fear. It's about adapting to the actual reality. I experience *less* fear when I go out in a respirator because of what I understand about #covid. The pre-2019 world is not coming back, and we either process that, grieve it, and adapt, or slowly succumb to a virus far more dangerous than we have been led to believe. It doesn't matter what you think of me. It matters what you think of *that.* I am just a messenger (like messenger RNA, you know?)

#FunFact
The same N-95, KN-95, and equivalent respirators that protect you from airborne contagious disease also provide protection from wildfire smoke.

There's just not a lot of BSL-3 labs that are equipped to deal with cattle and there's a lot of rules and regulations involved.

Is there a way to reverse the decision by five Republicans on the Supreme Court that it’s OK for billionaires and big corporations to bribe politicians?

Sorry for how poorly this thread is laid out. I didn't really know what I was doing on Mastodon in early 2023.

Let's go ahead and add North Carolina's House Bill 237 to the discussion. Here's the current state codes:

anapsid.org/cnd/mcs/maskcodes.

What HB237 would be amending is:

ncleg.net/EnactedLegislation/S

and

ncleg.net/EnactedLegislation/S

with "Unmasking Mobs and Criminals"

ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2023/H237

According to the latest edition of the bill, it would specifically remove this sentence, which makes it currently allowed, from the current law:

"Any person wearing a mask for the purpose of ensuring the physical health or safety of the wearer or others."

NC anti-mask bill HB237 approved by committee. Still contains an exemption to allow seeking permission to wear one -- not for medical reasons, but for the KKK

It's REALLY weird to me when people in software mine research papers for their content and say "researchers" instead of naming the scientists who actually did the work they're using. We're human beings and our work is our livelihood (at a fraction of yours I might add). Name us.

Blessed for the community around me that has this value, side eye at the content engine that doesn't.

"Since March 25, when the bird flu virus was confirmed in U.S. cattle for the first time, weekly sales of raw cow’s milk have ticked up 21% to as much as 65% compared with the same periods a year ago."

This is why we can't have nice things.

"There is currently “no realistic or scalable alternative” to standard kerosene-based #JetFuel, and touted “sustainable aviation fuels” are well off track to replace them in a timeframe needed to avert dangerous climate change, despite public subsidies."

“It’s a huge #greenwashing exercise by the #aviation industry. It’s magical thinking that they will be able to do this.”

Treating the air in the room removes Covid in 20-30 minutes. But it doesn't remove Covid as an infected person exhales!

PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN INFECTED OUTDOORS. OUTDOORS IS BEST POSSIBLE VENTILATION, AND HIGH UV IN THE DAYTIME.

There is only a minority of people who call themselves Covid cautious who are actually protecting ourselves and others.

We don't fucking dine in restaurants. Not even on the patio. Takeout or delivery and eat at home.

We aren't fooled by nasal sprays and mouthwash. 2/3

"The rate of atmospheric carbon dioxide increase is currently 10 times faster than at any point in the past 50,000 years, research in Scotland and the US has shown.

[They] identified a pattern that showed the jumps in #CarbonDioxide occurred alongside North Atlantic cold intervals known as #HeinrichEvents that are associated with abrupt climate shifts around the world."
