Das Fediverse ist nicht nur ein soziales Netzwerk, sondern birgt auch riesiges Lernpotential für digitale Mündigkeit. Denn wer hier beteiligt ist, bekommt nebenbei z.b. mit, dass man Software selbst installieren oder dass man sie gemeinsam weiter gestalten kann oder dass eine Software auf unterschiedlichen Servern mit unterschiedlichen Regeln installiert werden kann ...
Für nerdige Menschen mag das alles selbstverständlich sein. Für die meisten Menschen, mit denen ich zu tun habe, ist es das aber ganz und gar nicht.
Ich finde, dass wir dieses Lernpotential viel offensiver kommunizieren können - vor allem in Erwiderung zu dem Vorwurf, dass das hier alles viel zu kompliziert sei: Ja, natürlich gibt es hier viel zu lernen, aber das ist ja nichts Schlechtes. Ganz im Gegenteil

It started with the Twitter lockout. 10,000 new users an hour. Almost a quarter million migrated to Mastodon in one day. The servers struggled. Remarkably, admins all over the world built up capacity in real time. New users were patient. The system held.

It's running better now. There will be more hard days ahead, but people powered social media has arrived.

»Die Wahrheit ist, dass bei vielen die Wichtigkeit der Bildung eine inhaltsleere Pose ist. Nachdem alle nach Corona wieder in die Schulen kamen, war man erleichtert, dass die Kinder betreut werden. That’s it!
Dass es aber um mehr gehen muss als eine vorgetäuschte Normalität, ist nun wieder im Hintergrund. Deshalb müssen wir immer wieder laut sein und rufen: Gute Bildung ist das Einzige, was dieses Land hat! Es wird zu wenig getan!

Um die irritierenden Grafiken bei den amerikanischen Wahlen zu verstehen, muss man immer auch die Bevölkerungsdichte der verschiedenen Wahlkreise berücksichtigen. So wäre beispielsweise 1969 eine Wahl auf dem Mond nicht zwangsläufig an die Republikaner gefallen.
