This is part of the control room during the operation of #Wendelstein7X. You see mostly screens used by so called “diagnosticians”. These are people which either measure plasma parameters or change the plasma properties, e.g. plasma density or temperature with their devices. Typically you need a couple dozens of clever physicists, engineers and technicians to operate an experimental reactor.

I use a range of numerical methods to model dust evolution in circumstellar disks like these observed with ALMA. In January, Amsterdam opened the first underwater bike parking facility of the world, right in front of the central station.

It offers space to 7,000 bikes, including some 700 rental bikes.

The parking is a true engineering piece of art. The inside also looks like art, with it's pillars and several artworks.

The parking has a underground connection to the metro hal and Central Station, so cyclists can easily walk to and from public transport.
