According to text messages ex-Gov. Bryant filed in court, Brett Favre told him on Jan. 26, 2020, that he "just messaged Tate."

But the Favre texts Reeves' office turned over don't begin until Jan. 27. We've asked about the discrepancy. No reply yet.

The State is suing Brett Favre and dozens of others as part of a civil suit attempting to claw back tens of millions in misspent funds.

But Favre has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing. Neither has Gov. Reeves or former Gov. Bryant.

Here's a copy of the public records request I sent Gov. Tate Reeves' office when I was seeking these text messages.

I want to be clear for those who didn't read the story: There is no evidence that Gov. Tate Reeves ever got Brett Favre the money he wanted—only that they discussed it.

And there were no bills filed in 2020 to pay for the USM volleyball facility.

On Feb. 27, 2020, then-Chief of Staff to the Governor Brad White sent Gov. Reeves a text message with a link to @ayewolfe@twitter.com's @MSTODAYnews@twitter.com story which broke the news that TANF funds were used to build the volleyball facility.

I asked for all texts between Favre and Reeves between January 2020 and October 2022.

The ones Gov. Reeves' office produced were for Jan. 27, 2020, and Feb. 5, 2020, and none after that date.
