This was amazing, and Ronaldo 1996 should have been summoned:

Also, it is cool that this could be considered a plausible posisbility when we are, as community, generally incapable of connecting a room to Zoom on the first try...
Happy to read that some funding agencies are already reacting to the recent inflation surge!
The one-off extra funding by DOE includes 34.5M$ for CMS upgrade, 32.8M$ for ATLAS, and 38M$ for the HL-LHC.
While testing/moving to Mastodon, I am trying Moa (https://moa.party) as a synchronization service. Does anybody have experience with the tool already?

Hello everyone! Let's start with a short #introduction post.
I am a particle physicist working at UCLouvain on the CMS experiment at CERN/LHC. I am active for some 20+ years in the search for and study of the Higgs boson. I have a particular interest for machine learning techniques and programming.
After having contributed to the current CMS Tracker, I am also building the upgraded detector for HL-LHC.
Particle physicist, Research Director of FNRS at UCLouvain. Member of the CMS collaboration.
