@thomasafine Growing up in GA, we had a a required HS class in "mass media" that was actually quite good (although as students we complained at the time!). I'm guessing it doesn't exist anymore. (This was almost 40 years ago.)

@adamdavidson And it was a while before twitter became what it is -- "why would people want to know what I'm doing all day?" Seems like federated versus single server is less of a barrier to overcome. People understand not everyone uses the same email server.
