@Jinjirrie
As a non-indigenous Australian, I concede that I'm probably subconsciously racist. While not a cure-all, the Voice is one step in the right direction
"... the Constitution will never not be racist, just as Australia as it stands will never not be racist ... I don’t think Constitutional Reform could ever be the balm to solve that, and yet potentially a Voice, could provide us with one weapon, if we can figure out the best way to use it."

I'm not the first to post this and won't be the last. Asimov's words are a good reminder to see every one and a while.

I DON'T WANT SELF DRIVING CARS!!!!

✔️ I want boring things like public transit that comes so regularly I don't need to check a schedule.

✔️ I want fast passenger rail so accessible and easy it's preferable to suffering airports.

✔️ I want cities that aren't built around cars-as-default

✔️ I want the country to own it.

All wealth is created in the act of manufacture of a good or delivery of a service.

Money does not create money, it merely gives power to those who have previously used an establishment system to acquire it from those whose labour created it, to further appropriate more of it from them.

The neoliberal concept of worthiness of the wealthy as such & the unworthiness of those who are not greedy & grasping is obviously an entire inversion of all moral values for ever.

But they own the governments & they own the press, hence they own everything, everyone.

Why do I need to say this?

“South Australia continues its record-breaking run on renewables, with wind and solar contributing just over 85% (85.4%) of the state’s electricity demand for the month of December.”

It wasn’t long ago that the #coalition was bucketing the use of renewables, particularly in South Australia.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for a mea culpa.

Elon Musk fired Twitter's entire staff in Brazil except a few salespeople.

Among those fired: "eight people who moderated content on the platform in order to catch posts that broke its rules against incitement to violence and misinformation."

If Australia doesn’t become a republic after the dysfunctional soap opera we’ve seen on display in the UK recently, we really need to stop pretending this country has any spine at all. The French had the right idea in 1789. Get the Union Jack out of our flag for good.

On Monday Bolsonaro's former Justice Minister Anderson Torres was appointed Brasília Security Secretary, then he flew up to the US. One hour after his Military Police opened the doors of federal buildings for the pro-coup protesters, he was fired. He'll probably stay in Florida.

@SheepOverboard @MilennialZero @PhilGorman Southern Cross tattoos have long been dubbed the Austika but I personally kind of regard the Aus flag in a similar light.

It’s either the particular brand of nationalism that’s defiantly and aggressively homogenising or it’s passively accepting of the same.

Draft Referendum question #VoicetoParliament #auspol

It reads…
“There shall be a body, to be called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.”

“The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice may make representations to Parliament and the Executive government on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.”

“The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws with respect to the composition, functions, powers and procedures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.”

The draft referendum question would ask:
“Do you support an alteration to the Constitution that establishes an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice?”

It’s a YES from me.

Albanese released this draft in July
