I'm not sure CNN, CBS, or NYT could ever be described as having "core journalistic values" but there is in fact no denying billionaire owned for-profit media is tilting hard towards embracing core fascist ideology in an increasingly alarming and open way.
It is not, historically, shall we say "a very good sign."
Despite the fact that this is largely being driven by a minority (fascist) ideological position; it happens to be a position shared by a lot of ppl who own everything.

Australia’s wealthiest 1% are 61% richer than they were before the pandemic and have pocketed $150,000 a minute over the past decade, according to new analysis by Oxfam Australia. #auspol https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jan/16/australian-billionaires-pocketed-150000-a-minute-over-past-decade-oxfam-research-finds
The Saudi’s would just be in the black if they’d known about it.
I see reports of slowing growth on #Mastodon. Good. Don’t tell anyone else. Everyone here is awesome.
Except the artists. Tell them. And the scientists. And the musicians. Tell them too. And the chefs. And the space nerds. And the mountain climbers and surfers. And the farmers. Tell them. And the horticulturists. And the photographers. And the software developers. And the poets. And the astronauts. And the dancers. And..
Tell interesting people, the fediverse is where you want to be.
I wonder what happens to this #Twitter account if people vote 'no.'

Here's the incredibly code of conduct breaking post that got me banned from aus.social:
I've read the Indigenous Voice final report. The government Voice to Parliament bodies as proposed are a great idea and should be implemented.
I don't see any need for referendum, and the racist commentary about it is a good reason not to have one. The Voice to Parliament can be fully implemented without a referendum or a constitutional change.
If there is a referendum on a constitutional change, the exact words to be added to the constitution must be set in stone and finalised before Australians vote on them. The details of the voice body can be set and changed afterwards, but the words for the constitution shouldn't.
@Jinjirrie
As a non-indigenous Australian, I concede that I'm probably subconsciously racist. While not a cure-all, the Voice is one step in the right direction
"... the Constitution will never not be racist, just as Australia as it stands will never not be racist ... I don’t think Constitutional Reform could ever be the balm to solve that, and yet potentially a Voice, could provide us with one weapon, if we can figure out the best way to use it."

I think he’d still be shocked to see how much deeper the hole is.
I DON'T WANT SELF DRIVING CARS!!!!
✔️ I want boring things like public transit that comes so regularly I don't need to check a schedule.
✔️ I want fast passenger rail so accessible and easy it's preferable to suffering airports.
✔️ I want cities that aren't built around cars-as-default
✔️ I want the country to own it.
