"Space Plan v0.10
1. Build large solar panel grids at both or either poles.
2. Build refineries. Cook "Rego-crete" for structures, cook ice into rocket fuel, cook structural steel and other building materials. Regocrete roads to ensure maximum lifespan of the rc moon mining drills and bulldozers.
3. Automated material production. Build a self sustaining factory. Then build more.
4. Underground habitats/tunnels connected by maglev trains. Only after this point do we really have a population on another planetoid. Stephen Hawking cries with joy for humanity is saved. Almost.
5. Mass driver to start getting materials into orbit super cheap.
6. Space Stations start being built. After you get a few O'Neill cylinders, humanity is much safer.
All this before humans on Mars. Then you can mass-drive resupply crates at Mars on the cheap, and people have a chance to survive there. Then, hope the solar system isn't invaded by a physics breaking hivemind."
