Absolutely incredible to get a peek inside what was really happening behind the scenes at Fox News. So much worse than you could have imagined.
"Dominion also describes how Mr. Murdoch provided Mr. Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, with confidential information about ads that the Biden campaign would be running on Fox."

In a stroke of genius the Docker.app for Mac automatically downloaded an update that does not run on the version of MacOS I'm using. How wonderful.
Luckily, I'm not the first person to experience this and instructions how to fix the problem were already written down by someone else:
@andrewg But... whoever does invent a workable self-cleaning toilet will never need to invent anything else, assuming they don't just give away the design (but it would be great if they did!).
I don't see trying to invent something that EVERYONE wants as a waste of time. Even if you fail, you have figured out all the ways that won't work, and maybe you can write a book and save other from trying all the things you tried. Or maybe someone else will pick up on your nearest to success effort and figure out what you missed.
But anyway I guess I am not seeing why the fact that there are uncleaned toilets should be a problem for #FOSS. That's not a problem unless you choose to make it one by not cleaning the toilets AND refusing to use an "unclean" toilet. Not to be sexist or anything but I think most women would just clean the damn toilet, whereas many men would let it go for years before they'd ever clean it, and just continue to use it. When I was a kid I had a couple occasions to use a toilet at a place where my dad worked (all men working there) and I don't think it had ever been cleaned from the day it was installed!
The fundamental problem with #FOSS is that nobody cleans toilets for free. They will publish novels, perform operas, build temples and design spaceships for free, because those things are exciting and new and fun. But they'd rather spend years of their lives trying and failing to invent the self-cleaning toilet than just *clean the toilet*. And a surprising number of the most important tasks in life are much closer to toilet hygiene than spaceship design.
A phrase we thankfully haven't heard in months: "I thought Thunderbird was dead!"
---
Hi, I'm Jason. In May 2022 I was blessed to be offered a dream job: running #Thunderbird comms and creating content for our newsletters & blog.
Goal #1: remove any doubts about Thunderbird's future in the public eye. I'm thrilled to say it feels like we accomplished that!
And our team LOVES the engagement & community spirit here. It's a personal daily highlight for me.
Please keep your feedback coming 💙

Update:
While "free" it seems that Mammoth requires users to register on their instance moth.social. They present this as "simplifying" sign-up, but some counter this is antithetical to the decentralized nature of the fediverse.
While currently "free" at some point this will change to a subscription model: "Therefore, we likely will have a subscription, but it won’t stop you from enjoying the app if you’re not paying. We don’t have all the details or the timing figured out yet.”

Here's something I wrote for @techpolicy.social that encourages us to think about algorithmic amplification/Section 230 in terms of how it affects the quality of argument rather than merely how it protects speech... specifically how does it affect how we "intellectually fight" and how does it undermine the ability to "fight constructively"
