in case you ever wondered why silicon valley whiz kids keep “rediscovering” bad ideas that were tried and discarded before they were born, it’s because there’s no institutional knowledge in the software industry

@matrix
Not anywhere close! It's an unwritten rule that re-makes never rise up to the expectations of the originals. Think of Batman, the animated series in 1992, Scooby Doo, where are you? (1969) and Tom&Jerry.

This is why I'm gonna keep back-ups of all these amazing originals for my kids to see unaltered quality.

Yep, Netflix is is a pile of rubbish shows disguised under 3 or 4 memorable ones that were decent (the office, himym, etc.)

@deprecated Yeah I do agree that LT or IQ are not ideal when assessing the level of experience and one’s ability to implement good solutions on real world projects.

@deprecated Overall you gotta be smart to do well in them, the kind of intelligence that can help you make a breakthrough in tech. If a company wants to hire based on LT or IQ they should be able to. Time will tell if this method is optimal. Which I think it’s not but there’s few alternatives for hiring programmers.

The Matrix lost its edge with contemporary audiences because people today would rather accept the Faustian bargain that Cipher took than live in Piss Earth.
