Zotero how-to guide.

I'm hoping that @MustaqBilalPhD can crosspost to Mastodon his great bird app thread on Zotero citation management software. A how-to guide.

Journal suggesters

Each of the large publishers has their own journal suggester.

Paste your abstract in the white rectangular box.

Then click on "Reveal Suggested Journals" at the bottom of your screen.

It will give you a list of suggested journals with the most relevant ones on top.
Thanks to @MustaqBilalPhD on the bird app for the original idea.

World Science Forum 2022 Media for Social Justice Fellowships
Support and promote science from the 'global south.'

One of WSF2022’s main objectives is to support the profession of science journalism in these quite difficult economic times. In the ‘global south’, where issues of importance to local, national and regional peoples are often a ‘hard sell’ at the global level and lack media coverage, the WSF2022 theme of “Science for Social Justice” strikes a definite chord.

Learn more about it here:

Anatomical models made from ivory, c.1700. Both figures have removable torsos to show the internal organs. The female figure is also pregnant and a fetus is shown.

The level of anatomical detail is limited but gives a basic layout of the main organs. As such it is likely that the model was used to teach lay people about basic human anatomy. They also may have been used to teach young married couples about pregnancy. #histmed #histsci #sciart #anatomy #MedMastodon #medicine

Firstly, THANKYOU, I am so enjoying the scientific content on Mastodon. I have no idea whether I am on the right server, but it's so refreshing. Secondly, I have yet to post on my key reasons for being here, one of which is promoting science/scientists, primarily celebrating the achievements of women scientists. I will throw a few men in there too because I know /have known some amazing male scientists too! I'm happy to take suggestions for who to cover too! I am not @amydiehl, or intending to compete with her -- I started this before I learnt about her work.
