As an American, one of the things that gives me a feeling of kinship with the Ukrainian people is their courage in refusing to accept a future determined for them by Putin, and their resolve in fighting for their freedom despite the odds. That includes fighting to make a free country for all Ukrainians, including marginalized ones from their LGBTQ communities.

It saddens me that @timkmak lost subscribers because he highlighted the stories of Ukraine's LGBTQ community in his reporting. I've subscribed and encourage others to do so, too.

could have spent a full year spitballing how musk was going to kill Twitter and couldn’t have come up with anything close to the unbelievable dipshittery of “users can only read 600 tweets a day” like, what do they put in billionaire cocaine anyway

“A Kansas woman says she was ordered to leave the restroom at Wichita Public Libary's central branch after taking her nonverbal and disabled adult son into it with her, reports The Topeka Capital-Journal. Kansas recently banned people from using bathrooms and other spaces not designated for their assigned birth sex, a law plainly targeted at trans and intersex women but also useful for keeping disabled people and their opposite-sex carers at bay.”

SERIOUSLY, LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW GREAT SANDWICHES ARE. I LOVE 'EM. ALL KINDS.

I'M NOT A SANDWICH PURIST. YOU CAN SHAG A FEW CLOSE CALLS INTO THE ROUGH AND IT'S STILL A SANDWICH. I AM NOT HERE TO GATEKEEP YOUR IDEA OF WHAT A SANDWICH CAN BE. I AM SIMOLY HERE TO CELEBRATE THE IDEA OF A SATISFYING HAND-HELD MEAL.

I must not engage with the discourse
Discourse is the time-killer
Discourse is the little error that leads to table-flipping
I will ignore the discourse
I will permit it to pass through me and over me
When it has gone past, I will turn to my timeline and see no posts
Where the discourse was, there will be nothing
Only cat pics will remain

#Alito is a full-throated fucking neo-Nazi who would greenlight the Nuremberg Laws if he got/gets the chance, and his sadboi, aggrieved entreaties for "respect" for the "institution" should get lost in a neverending chorus of "Shut the fuck up, Nazi."

I hate flying. I love trains. Trains are wonderful. High-speed rail is one of those things that would make America so much better for literally everyone except airlines, oil companies, and car manufacturers. Can we build it, please?

Found something remarkable (and also quite sad).

In 1997, Wired published "The Long Boom", a hyper-optimistic article about how we'd achieve Utopia by 2020.

The authors included notes on some "scenario spoilers"—negative events that might send is in a worse direction.

...and those spoilers turned out to be almost spookily accurate.
