On the morning after... Grant went in late last night... After a decent sleep, I confront 4 hours of back2back meetings (11-3 local time - no lunch; but trainees who have been waiting for me to be available) and 488 emails in the InBox. I'm getting too old for rapid rebounds from intense periods.
I'm ready to lock in specific meeting time windows and extreme email triage going forward. I actually need time to do things rather than communicate about doing things.

I’ve been rocked by this article penned by Dawkins.
Not because of its colonial superiority overtones, but the overt racism.
If your ‘rational objectivity’ can’t explain your stance without racially offending the country your are a guest in, your argument fails.

@taramcallister4 when I worked at UCL there was a general rule no meetings before 10am or after 4pm so to accommodate parents/carers/commuters. Add in a lunch hour (or two for the late eating Europeans) and this meant meetings 10-12 and 2-4, much better for getting actual work done.

Name plate installed outside my lab. The little Native girl in me who made it through physics, chemistry, org biology, and calculus is so joyful 😀

Our latest paper, a collaboration @WyWyWa's group, is now online. In it we developed informatics approaches to "screen" for small molecules that can drive stem cell differentiation. Congrats @NovakovskyG and @shugosasaki! https://www.cell.com/stem-cell-reports/pdf/S2213-6711(23)00011-5.pdf
