10 years ago today the Cassini spacecraft peered past Saturn's rings and captured this image of a distant bluish planet and its moon. That's Earth, seen from over 900 million miles away! #SmileYoureOnCassiniCamera

@seismogenic I am impressed you can handle first-come-first-served campsites! Have a good trip.

Mastodon is great, the only thing I miss on this app is quote posts. I know they have a bad rap bc of Twitter, but every major social network has this functionality for a reason (Tumblr, LinkedIn, Facebook, IG). As a journalist, I’d love to add commentary and amplify great info, build on ppl’s points, etc. You just can’t do that the same wait with replies! Is there any chance we might get them on here?

@caseynewton meh. It feels mostly like people on Instagram posting their stuff on another platform. It is changing a bit, but it doesn't have any science, weather, news, etc. that I expect from a Twitter replacement.

Yosemite's Tioga Road officially opened to motor vehicles on July 28, 1915. The latest the road has ever opened since then came just two years later, July 19, 1917.

This is the first time since the 1930s the road has remained closed past July 1. And because the historic winter snows caused widespread severe damage to facilities along the route, this year's opening could set a new record.

@caseynewton I love that a month ago AI was going to destroy everything and now it is going to eat itself then whither up and die. Thankfully we have you to guide us through these treacherous waters.

@seismogenic but would you drink it again? Smoothie style beer is enjoyable, but only on occasion. I don't know if I could do two back to back.

@caseynewton Valid point, or that he has admitted to… Enjoy your fancy USB-C friendly hotel 😄

@caseynewton I am pretty disappointed that Kevin doesn't turn to AI to raise his children.

I wrote about how Reddit’s years of making users responsible for content creation, moderation, and product development came back to haunt it today. platformer.news/p/reddit-goes-

This is probably the best thing I ever posted on Twitter. The memory is pretty dear to me; I'm sharing it here so it still exists somewhere if that place collapses.
