Mich faszinieren die Verdrängungsleistungen des Menschen in der Klimakrise.
Für das Ahrtal z.B. wurden tausende Genehmigungen für den Wiederaufbau erteilt.
Das Motto jedes Mal: "Nur, weil das Haus in den Fluten zerstört wurde, ist das ja noch kein Beweis dafür, dass dieser Ort auch hochwassergefährdet ist!"

I mean, it's been fifteen fucking years. we know what Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey are about. they've shown us their whole entire asses. we've seen them radicalize our uncles and put Nazis onto the streets.
but the second they dangle a toy in front of us with the vague scent of FOMO and ground floor clout, that whole history gets thrown away and we're back to repeating history like it's 2007 all over again.
Since moving, I have started to expand my plant collection by growing various trees from seeds with the intention of turning them into bonsai.
A lot of them actually started sprouting but now some kind of fungus or insect is affecting them.
I really hope at least some of them are pulling through because at this point I'm easy too invested

Astronomers Map out the Radio Waves Coming from Large Satellite Constellations
You've heard that satellite constellations like Starlink are a problem for astronomers and their telescopes. Because the satellites are communicating with radio waves, they're also an issue for radio astronomers. A new study used the Low-Frequency Array to observe 68 Starlink satellites as they flew overhead. The telescopes could detect the "unintended electromagnetic radiation" emanating from electronics onboard the Starlink satellites. These could impact radio observations, and unlike visible light, the glare isn't coming from reflected light but emissions from the satellites themselves.

The funny thing is that it's not so much about the engineering and problem solving aspect of it. More often than not, it's just simple logistics. Basic flight-ready components have huge delivery times (sometimes more than a year) and PCB manufacturers are running at full capacity.
Me as an amateur space enthusiast: "Why do these cool missions constantly get delayed? It can't be that hard to make a realistic estimate..."
Me, a few weeks into working in the space industry: "Ohhhhhh...."
