The future is fascinating.

Politicians and wannabe big thinkers want to fight a battle against EVs and prop up Detroit and jobs.

That's not the big issue - and besides, it won't work.

And they are forgetting this simple fact - it's pretty obvious that China is about to own the 21st-century automotive industry, and car companies need to pick up the pace to have a fighting chance.

Meanwhile, the one guy who was doing all the right things to reinvent the automotive industry has gone off into grievance-mind-for-butter-conspiracy land and has lost the plot.

"This is not subjective. We all saw it. Plenty of leaders today try to convince the masses we did not see what we saw, but our eyes don’t deceive. (If leaders began a yearslong campaign today to convince us that the Baltimore bridge did not collapse Tuesday morning, would you ever believe them?) Trust your eyes. Trump on Jan. 6 launched the most serious threat to our system of government since the Civil War. You know that. You saw it." #Trump #Biden cleveland.com/news/2024/03/our

A study on Tokyo teenagers has found that their stress levels had decreased during Japan's first COVID-19 state of emergency, contrary to popular belief that restrictions on academic and social activities caused extra stress. japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/02/ #japan #sciencehealth #covid19injapan #covid19 #children #depression #surveys

"The single most dangerous statement by a government health agency official since the start of the pandemic, if not for all time."

Can you believe I grew up in Berkeley, that I started my rap career in San Francisco, that I've been back in the bay for 3 whole years, and that I STILL never in my life played a show at the Gilman Street Project?! Well let's fix that. JAN 12th w/ Mega Ran & plenty more.

“For the first time in our Nation’s history, a grand jury has charged a former President with committing crimes while in office to overturn an election that he lost. In response, the defendant claims that to protect the institution of the Presidency, he must be cloaked with absolute immunity from criminal prosecution … He is wrong.”

There are people who think legal briefs are boring. I’m not one of those people.

Today I want to look at the economy from two angles: how it’s objectively doing, and how it’s perceived to be doing. Are things still bad, or is this largely vibes? And importantly, how will economic sentiment affect the crucial election next year? open.substack.com/pub/statusku

That's all.

This 50-foot waterfall is called Devils Kettle. It's in northern Minnesota. The river splits into two and one side goes down a hole and disappears.

We hiked in on Sunday and the entire canyon below the falls if full of frozen foam. I've never seen anything like it. There must be 30 to 40 feet of frozen foam.
