Three more paintings from the Algerian Tassili n’Ajjer (‘plateau of chasms’) More than 15,000 rock paintings and engravings, dating back as far as 12,000 years are known. These date from
the Bovidian/Pastoral period (4,000 to 2,500 BC) marked by more realistic images showing scenes of daily life and domesticated animals. It appears to be a society of nomadic herders with their whole life revolving around their animals.
