My friendly neighbour gave me a booklet which was provided to UK and US soldiers who went to Austria after WWII as a short intro to the country. Its an amazing read (thanks Andy!!!). It also contains this gem. The last sentence explains a lot of the current problems.

Happy that ChEMBL and ChEBI have been included in the list of Global Core Biodata Resources (GCBRs)! twitter.com/emblebi/status/160

@bzdrazil “Prior to the launch of @ChEMBL, only large private organisations were able to access diverse and high-quality (proprietary or commercial) bioactivity data sets for a wide range of biological targets at scale” 👏🏻👏🏻 those resources are so important and have enabled so many important projects, thank you @emblebi #cheminformatics #DrugDiscovery #medchem #pharmacology #bioinformatics

Here's our 2022 update on @emblebi 's bioinformatics data resources with a focus on AI-driven applications and features. @ChEMBL

Interesting paper in Nature - “The remaining data or questions regarding this study are available from the corresponding author upon request.”
Me: “Can I get the data?”
Author: “No, I’m using the data for another paper. I’ll release the data with that paper”

Seriously?
