@ilanahorn I think that Ivory charges a small subscription fee, but:
1. Tapbots used to make Tweetbot, the best twitter app around, and when Twitter cut off its API to third parties the Tapbots developers lost a core revenue stream. So, the subscription directly supports the developers.
2. I think Ivory is *by far* my favorite mastodon client!
I happen to be on the annual plan, which cost $24.99 per year and gets you access to both macOS, iOS, and iPadOS versions.

@Cmastication That one is way more boring than the Kissing Booth I was at yesterday.
@amelia whoaaaa 🤯
@ilanahorn for my part, I use this app (and its iOS counterpart). Apologies if you're not on a Mac 😞
Super sad that I'm not at #positconf this year. Really disappointed at missing the chance to see @kellybodwin and @Cmastication and @amelia
@Cmastication @th@social.v.st stop clogging my mastodon feed
@gvwilson the only solace I've found is in writing the best possible prose I can in my research papers. It doesn't fix the pollution, but it's my own little way of refusing to contribute to it.
@grimalkina do check out Firefox Multi-Account Containers. I get so much use out of them by not having to switch browsers/log out any time I want to go from work email to personal email.

@Cmastication @axbom I used to drive a 1985 Toyota Tercel with a theft deterrent system. The system was it was a 1985 Toyota Tercel.
Mozilla's new report on the data privacy of modern cars is nightmare fuel. Enshittification has definitely hit the car industry: https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/privacynotincluded/articles/its-official-cars-are-the-worst-product-category-we-have-ever-reviewed-for-privacy/
@gvwilson what are some resources for getting better at those three things?
@kjhealy "before planning an experiment you should access the hazards"? Well, I wouldn't normally give myself a fungal infection, but if that's what the rules say then so be it.
@Cmastication it was spectacularly awesome and tragically cringe at the same time.
@Cmastication can't be worse than the time I was at iO and my friends made me tell the story of the third-worst date I ever went on. In front of the whole audience. The troupe then acted out the entire date. Again, in front of the whole audience.
I wrote about the idea of craft -- a concept I've been hearing a lot lately in conversations about software work and often find myself wrangling with. But it also turned out to be about my grandpa. In a year of many losses, I have been thinking a lot about those I love and try to take with me in everything I do.
@amelia glue::glue("woo", "hoo", "!")
@ben guaranteed never to turn pink
