What kind of biologist should you be?

I adore this charming - and pretty accurate - chart by @rosemarymosco to help make the decision.

Also, fungi wins 🍄 #art #science

I'm pleased to report this got a pretty good laugh from my undergrads during the lecture on color theory.

Throwback to one of the wildest (and luckiest) shots I've ever taken.

On approach into London several years back, the position of the sun & clouds created a halo around our plane's shadow as the sun highlighted the Tower Bridge. I'm still kicking myself for using my iPhone instead of my good camera, but I didn't expect the clouds to part. Lesson learned! 😒 😆

Taking some of the same colors and stretching them through a clockwork, different shades of mixtures throughout the sound.

On our rainy walk the sheep being used to mow the #vineyards were guarded by a llama who took his/her job very seriously. Natural vineyard mangement. #Vineyards #NapaValley they use a movable electric fence to keep them where they want them. The llama prorects against coyotes. #Nature

This week for #Fossilfriday we have another #Guess that #Lego #Fossil.

This is massive sauropod towered over its surroundings. That's all the hints you will get.

Reply and boost with your guesses and I will post the answer tomorrow (and to anyone who answers and guesses correctly)

This one was designed by Yobb and you can see more details here -bricklink.com/v3/studio/design

I'm still looking for a job. Anybody need a programmer in the San Francisco Bay area? I'm a python programmer with experience in C/C++/Java/JS, I've done a bunch of CI/CD/SRE in the recent years, lots of tooling and back end web dev, and I've got a good deal of amateur experience doing reverse engineering and embedded development.
(I've done devops work but I'm trying to move away from that because too often it turns into just "ops", and I am a programmer.)

#introduction I joined Mastodon yesterday and am learning how to use it. I live in Massachusetts north of Boston. Some of the family names I research include Salt, Denman, Boothby, Snow, Sweet, Coffin, Hockman, and Minor #surnames My roots are mostly New England but my Salt line came to Virginia first. All of my great grandparent lines migrated to Ohio, so I do a lot of Ohio research.

#TodayInOaklandHistory March 9, 1862, Andrew Anderson was born in the Halland province of Sweden. By the 1880s he had made his way to the Bay Area

Andrew and his wife Emma lived in West #Oakland. He worked as a deckhand on the ferryboat Piedmont
